Can we refine black engine oil?

Oil used in the engine of your car (or any other internal combustion engine) is composed of many different components. The largest percentage of the mixture is the base oil, whether it is petroleum or synthetic base oil. The other components of the motor oil are additives used to give the motor oil the desirable properties of low temperature performance, wear resistance, anti-rust capabilities, load carrying properties, oxidation stability, acid reduction additives, and a whole host of other properties. The black color that forms in used motor oil are usually the byproducts of the additives being ';used up';.

It is quite possible, and is routinely done, to recover the base oils from the used motor oil. This is usually done by distillation. The recovered base oil can be used to blend a variety of lubricating oils, but is not usually used to formulate new motor oils. Can we refine black engine oil?
yes it is possible at a refinery plant. because step by step your needing 1- decontamination or filtration 2- atmospheric distillation for low boiling pointed hydrocarbones and gasoline and water 3- fractional distilllation under vacuum. 4- acid treatment and clay contacting and filtration ... the lst step can change with hydrogen or propane distillation
