Hi Mark, could you please be a little more specific, as the Caltex add says, ';Oils Ain't Oils';. Also Betty is a professional chef, so I would look closely at her answer.

The oils that you have mentioned are used mainly for cooking. They are known to contain unsaturated fats which when hydrogenated lead to formation of harmful saturated fats. Thus, vegetable oils are recommended for cooking.Today, these oils are packed with nutrient like vit a,b,c etc and also contain certain enzymes that can control cholestrol etc. Moreover vegetable oils like Jojoba oils are used foe cosmHi there, can someone tell me for what is used, refine cooking/vegetable oil used for.thanks?
You need to be more specific. There are many types of refined cooking oil. Depending on what you are making, some are better than others. For example, extra virgin olive oil is excellent for making salad dressings. Peanut oil is an excellent stir-fry oil. Clarified butter is great for pan-frying. Rice oil makes and excellent oil for deep frying.
Some people have developed a way to use used cooking oil for some sort of fuel for cars.

Sometimes used restaurant oil or grease is sold to mix in fro making pet or farm animal food, I believe.
